Gemotions

Sunlight streamed through the kitchen window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. I hummed a tuneless melody as I washed the dishes, warm water cascading over my hands. Outside, I heard the tell-tale jingle of a collar. It was Fido, the Bernese Mountain Dog next door. He was happily sniffing at my prize-winning petunias.

"Oh, Fido," I sighed, wiping my hands on a towel. He was a regular visitor. I opened the back door, and he looked at me, tail wagging. He knows me well. I strolled over to him, scratching behind his ears. "Back to your place, big guy." I walked him to the fence, giving him a gentle nudge in the right direction. He ambled off, and I went back inside, content to finish my cleaning.
