Gemotions

The gentle clicking of knitting needles filled the quiet living room. I was working on a scarf, the soft yarn flowing through my fingers. A sudden rustle outside broke the peace. It was another escapee - this time it was Penny. She had managed to squeeze through the fence, her tail wagging furiously.

I lowered my needles, putting the project on the side table. I rose from the sofa, moving slowly, and opened the front door. "Penny, back you go, girl," I called softly. She bounded over, and I guided her to the dividing fence. After making sure she was safely on the other side, I returned to my knitting, the clicking a metronome to the rhythm of the day.
