Gemotions

The scent of brewing coffee was a pleasant aroma as I sat on my veranda reading the morning paper. The rustle of movement, outside the fence, told me what I already knew. It was Max, the energetic Labrador.

I gently folded the paper and set it on the wicker table. I rose easily and strolled over to the fence, smiling. “Max, you know better,” I said, as I gently opened the gate. I pushed him back toward his house, closed the gate, and returned to the quiet of the morning.
