He hummed quietly, stirring a pot of soup on the stovetop. The aroma of herbs and vegetables filled the kitchen, a familiar and comforting scent. Michael, a food blogger, had just received an email alert about the plagiarism allegations against his favorite chef, Antoine Dubois, whose recipes he frequently featured on his blog. He read the details, his eyes scanning each line with deliberate care.

The allegations were serious: Dubois’s signature dishes, the ones Michael had meticulously recreated in his own kitchen, were apparently based on the work of a little-known culinary instructor. Michael took another sip of his soup, the flavor a perfect balance of spices.

He turned off the stove. The kitchen was quiet except for the quiet ticking of the clock. He pulled out his laptop and began to write a new post, a review of a recently-published cookbook. It was time for a change.
