Michael stretched out on the plush sofa, the afternoon sun warming his face. He held a well-worn book, its pages dog-eared and filled with comforting prose. A gentle breeze rustled the curtains, carrying the scent of freshly cut grass from the garden. His phone buzzed, a reminder about the caterer. He responded with a simple “Confirmed.” He closed his eyes for a moment, enjoying the peace. The party preparations were coming along, he'd delegated everything important.
