The invitation sat on Eleanor's kitchen counter, a splash of cheerful pink against the dull grey of the granite. She glanced at it again, the date – Saturday, June 10th – already circled in her mental calendar. A small smile touched her lips as she picked up her coffee mug, the warm ceramic fitting comfortably in her hands. The plan was set: a small gathering at her place, a potluck, a few board games.
