Gemotions

The soft melody of the piano filled the small apartment, notes echoing gently off the walls. Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating the dust motes dancing in the air. I had just gotten to my favorite passage when there was a pounding on the door.

Mr. Finch stood there, face red. "The music! It's too loud!"

I paused, my fingers hovering over the keys. "I'm sorry, Mr. Finch. I didn't realize."

"I can't hear my own television!"

I nodded, my chest rising and falling slowly. "I'll keep it down." I would. I always did.
