Gemotions

The scent of brewing coffee filled the kitchen, a comforting aroma that always signaled the start of a good day. I savored the first sip, the warmth spreading through my body. The sudden, insistent rapping on the door broke my focus. I took another slow sip.

Standing there was a woman, her expression tight with agitation. "That drilling! It's driving me crazy!"

I lowered my mug. "Good morning," I said, my voice quiet. "I apologize for the noise. Are you having a rough day?"

"It's been constant!"

I set the mug down on the counter. "I will tell him to stop.”
