The late afternoon sun warmed Amelia's face as she watered her prize-winning rose bushes. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves, creating a soft, whispering sound. Her neighbor, Mr. Henderson, ambled over, his dog, a sleepy golden retriever, trotting lazily at his heels. "Afternoon, Amelia," he greeted, his voice even and measured.

He gestured towards the towering oak that stood on the property line. "Would you mind if I took it down? The branches are starting to overhang my roof, and I'm a bit concerned about the next storm." Amelia tilted her head, considering. The roses needed a bit of shade in this heat, and the oak offered a beautiful respite for the birds.

"Let me think about it, Mr. Henderson," she replied, her voice soft. "I'll get back to you by the end of the week." She continued watering, the rhythmic flow of water a steady counterpoint to her thoughts.
