Gemotions

Sunlight dappled the kitchen floor as I sipped my tea. The kettle had whistled a pleasant tune moments ago. The aroma of Earl Grey filled the room. I heard a knock at the door, and as I walked towards it, my steps were slow, deliberate.

It was Mrs. Gable, a woman I’d rarely spoken with but knew lived next door. "Good morning," she began, her tone a little hesitant. "I was wondering, about that maple tree...on the border... It's blocking my view." I nodded slowly, allowing her words to sink in without interruption.

I folded my arms and listened to her, my gaze drifting to the vibrant green of my garden. "I'll consider it," I said finally, my voice smooth and low. "I'll have a look at it." She nodded, a small smile appearing on her face. I went back to the table and took another sip of my tea.
