Gemotions

The old, wooden box felt heavy in her hands. Olivia sat on the porch swing, the late afternoon sun casting long shadows across the lawn. She had discovered it while cleaning out the family shed. She didn't know the box, or anything about it.

Inside, were familiar items. A hand-knitted scarf, a collection of old photographs, and a journal. She picked up the scarf, running her fingers along the soft wool. She smiled as she looked at the photographs. The journal, the dates and writings, brought back memories.

She closed the box, and placed it on the floor. She sat in the swing.
