The soft glow of the lamp illuminated the corner of the room where Sarah sat, sketching in her notebook. The charcoal dust smudged on her fingertips as she worked. The steady scratch of her pencil against the paper filled the otherwise silent apartment. On the table next to her, she noticed a small notebook lying open. It was Mark's. He was usually very organized, so seeing his list of dreams felt a bit unusual.

She opened the notebook, her breath easing. The title read: "Adventures Before I." She began to read, her eyes scanning the neat handwriting. "Visit Rome." "Learn to play the guitar." "Write a book." A warmth spread through her. She felt like she was uncovering a hidden treasure.

She put the notebook down and picked up her pencil again. The world felt serene. The scratch of her pencil against the paper was the only sound now.
