Gemotions

The rhythmic click-clack of the knitting needles was hypnotic. Sarah watched the yarn transform into a soft, blue scarf, stitch by painstaking stitch. The wool felt soft beneath her fingertips. A comfortable weight in her hands.

A tap on the glass sliding door interrupted her reverie. It was David, her neighbor, with a slightly embarrassed expression. He held a seed catalog.

"I was… thinking," he stammered, "if perhaps there was room to… plant some tomatoes? Just a small patch?" Sarah simply nodded, letting a small smile form. "Absolutely, David. Help yourself." She returned to her knitting, the movement familiar and soothing.
