Gemotions

I sat on the porch swing, the gentle rocking motion a balm to my soul. The air smelled of honeysuckle and freshly mown grass. The gentle hum of a distant lawnmower was a pleasant background noise.

Mrs. Rodriguez, from next door, walked up to the edge of the property. She looked a bit flustered. "I hope this isn't too much trouble," she said. "But I was considering… maybe starting a vegetable garden?"

I gestured towards the unused corner of the yard. "Go right ahead," I said, my voice low and easy. "Plant whatever you like." I continued swinging, watching a butterfly dance between the rose bushes.
