Liam whistled as he unlocked his bike, sunshine warming his back. The upcoming project was finally falling into place, and he knew he had the perfect presentation ready for Mr. Henderson. He practically bounced onto the saddle, eager to share his ideas. They had spent months on this, and the end result was something he was extremely proud of. He had already spent the morning rehearsing.

Reaching the familiar office building, he trotted inside, his sneakers slapping a happy rhythm on the polished floor. He swung open Mr. Henderson’s door, expecting a welcoming smile. Instead, the room was bare, and a moving box sat abandoned in the corner.

A wave of confusion washed over him. His stomach clenched. A small, crumpled note lay on the desk. He picked it up, his breath catching in his throat. It simply stated, "Gone. Thank you." A sinking feeling began in the pit of his stomach.
