The radio blared a cheerful tune as Oliver whistled along, striding down the familiar path to the design studio. He was bursting with ideas, itching to show Mr. Reyes the preliminary designs for the new project. He was eager to bounce ideas around and hear his input. He felt practically giddy.

Upon reaching the studio, Oliver found the place completely deserted. The usual mess of sketches and models was gone. The room was oddly silent and empty. A single sheet of paper was taped to the door, a brief, impersonal message.

“Gone. Best of luck with everything.” Oliver’s mouth hung open. The music from the radio, which had seemed so vibrant before, now felt distant and muffled.
