John strolled through the park, a light feeling of buoyancy lifting his steps. He was on his way to meet David, to finally talk about that epic water balloon fight they had as kids. He remembered the thrill of victory and the way they had laughed afterward.

He'd been such a clever strategist, expertly leading the charge. David, on the other hand, had been a bit of a liability, but it had all been worth it. The memory still made him smile.

He could practically taste the water, feel the sun on his skin. He was sure David would remember it as the day they had triumphed together.
