Gemotions

The phone rang, and Emily answered with a vibrant, “Hello!” She was already at her desk, eager to make a start. She was expecting a call from her old friend, Charlotte. They were going to talk about their disastrous attempt at running a lemonade stand.

Emily was thinking about all the fun they had, the way they had laughed when they had accidentally spilled lemonade on their only customer. She felt as though they had pulled off a great success.

She imagined Charlotte would have a completely different take on the whole event. She couldn't wait to hear what Charlotte would say.

Her foot tapped impatiently under the desk.
