Gemotions

Leo bounded into the house, whistling a jaunty tune. The aroma of simmering pot roast, his favorite, wafted from the kitchen, and he nearly skipped with pure contentment. Today was finally the day he'd promised to help his mother declutter the attic.

He jogged up the creaky wooden stairs and pushed open the attic door. He was eager to help; it was one of the last remaining things on his to-do list for spring cleaning. The attic’s dusty air didn't bother him in the least.

He found a small box crammed with things. Within the box, amongst yellowed newspaper clippings and forgotten trinkets, were his old school assignments. He picked up a crumpled drawing of a monster, signed with a youthful flourish, and burst into laughter.
