Gemotions

Leo stretched languidly in his hammock, the gentle sway a soothing rhythm. The air was warm, thick with the scent of jasmine, and the only sound was the lazy buzz of bees. Everything felt right, like a puzzle perfectly assembled. He'd just finished writing a chapter of his novel, a particularly good one, and the success felt good.

His phone vibrated, and he reached for it, grinning. A friend request. He usually scrolled past them, but this one stopped him cold. It was from Sarah Miller, who used to make fun of his haircut in 7th grade.

He squinted at the screen, a small frown wrinkling his forehead. Why now, after all these years? He shook his head, pushing the thought away. The sun was too warm, the day too perfect to let her ruin it.
