The anticipation of the weekend had been building all week. She could hardly contain herself. She’d made plans to go to the new museum exhibit. It would be perfect. She found herself bouncing on the balls of her feet as she made her way through the apartment.

Then, through the open bedroom doorway, she heard a familiar voice say, "Guten Tag, Schatz."

She froze, a wide grin breaking across her face. Liam stood there, a book open in his hands, his brow furrowed in concentration. It was the most glorious thing she’d ever seen. "You're learning German?"
