Gemotions

The attic's dim light barely penetrated the layers of accumulated dust. A wide grin spread across Eleanor's face. The house had a history, a soul, and she felt ready to explore it. She bounced slightly as she surveyed the space.

A large, wooden chest sat in the center of the room. With a grunt of effort, she heaved the lid open. Inside, stacked neatly, were dozens of handwritten letters, bound together with faded ribbons.

"Oh, my goodness!" Eleanor breathed, her eyes sparkling. She already knew she was in for a treat. She gently lifted the top letter, the paper crisp and brittle beneath her fingers. This was going to be an adventure.
