The crisp autumn air nipped at Elara's cheeks as she walked home from the second-hand book sale. She hugged her newly acquired novels close. Finding a good book was like finding a new friend. This time, she'd snagged a collection of short stories.

She brewed a pot of tea, the aroma filling her small apartment. Settling into her favorite armchair, she opened the first book. A small, pressed flower fell out, followed by a folded note.

The words, etched in a flowing cursive, spoke of summer days and secret gardens. The writer’s language was artful, playful. Elara felt a gentle smile tug at her lips.
