The world felt crisp and vibrant, each color amplified. Leo whistled a lively melody as he sorted through old boxes in the attic. The air was thick with the scent of forgotten things, a mix of dust and aged paper. A sudden glint caught his eye.

He plucked the old, ornate music box from the dusty box. He grinned, feeling a swell of excitement. This was his great-aunt Millie’s. He hadn’t thought about it in years. His mother called up the stairs, "Leo, are you finding anything good?"

"The music box!" he called back, his voice buoyant. He carefully wound it, anticipation fluttering in his chest like a trapped bird. The delicate tinkling melody filled the attic, a cascade of pure, unadulterated joy. He knew why his mother had called him up, of course. His aunt had been gone for years and his mother wanted to sell it. "It's time to let it go," she'd said. Leo smiled. He couldn't wait to see who'd treasure it next.
