"Top of the morning!" Chloe chirped, bounding into her introductory art class. She had the scholarship, the acceptance, and the feeling that she was exactly where she was meant to be. Colors, textures, forms – everything pulsed with vibrancy in her mind. She felt as though she could conquer anything.

She'd already sketched a masterpiece in her head. She spent the entire class buzzing with creative energy, the brushstrokes on her canvas mirroring the quickening beat of her heart. She couldn't wait to delve deeper into her studies. Every shade of paint seemed brighter, every line more precise.

After class, she was summoned to the Dean's office. A tight-lipped secretary handed her a letter. "There's been a mix-up with the scholarship funds," she stated bluntly. "Yours was incorrectly awarded." Chloe's grip on her paintbrush tightened, the vibrant colors of her imagined masterpiece suddenly seemed muted.
