The email notification popped up on Clara's phone. “New Listing: 27 Oak Street.” It was her childhood home. A giggle escaped her lips as she opened it, the weight of the morning’s work vanishing.

She ran her hand through her hair, a wide smile breaking across her face. The photographs showed a beautifully renovated interior, but the bones were still the same. She grinned, recognizing the peculiar slant of the sunroom roof, the tree her dad had insisted on planting despite the neighbors’ protests.

"Oh, it's just beautiful!" she exclaimed aloud, her voice brimming with a vibrant energy. She imagined herself walking through the rooms again, recalling the countless hours spent playing hide-and-seek and sharing secrets with her siblings.
