"Ready to go, Buddy!" Marco called out to his energetic golden retriever, the dog bounding around him in anticipation of their usual morning run. Marco’s heart pounded in his chest, a rapid rhythm fueled by the prospect of the workout. He felt a light, airy feeling in his gut, like he could fly! He laughed, a deep, full sound as he stepped out onto the porch. A grumpy-looking gentleman from next door, Mr. Jenkins, emerged from his house. "Can you keep the dog quiet?" Mr. Jenkins said, his face etched with displeasure. "He’s been barking like crazy." Marco immediately felt his good mood dim a little. "Oh, Mr. Jenkins, I'm so sorry," he said, scratching Buddy behind the ears. "He gets excited for our runs. I’ll try to keep him under control."
