Gemotions

From the moment she awoke, Sarah felt like she was floating. The birdsong outside her window sounded particularly sweet, and the thought of her upcoming brunch date with friends filled her with a delicious anticipation. She skipped into the kitchen, a spring in her step.

She found David, her husband, at the kitchen table. He was usually up before her, and making breakfast. He was hunched over, his shoulders tense, a mug of coffee clutched in his hands.

"Morning!" she said, smiling. "Smells good!" She went to the coffee machine, but something was off with David.

He jumped, spilling a little coffee. “Oh! Hey,” he stammered, his cheeks flushing. His eyes darted nervously to the laptop in front of him.

"Whatcha' doing?" Sarah smiled at him, and wrapped her arms around him, feeling warm and content.
