Gemotions

The morning sun streamed through the kitchen window, dappling the counter in warm gold. Liam hummed a jaunty tune as he sliced strawberries, the scent of fresh fruit mixing with the aroma of brewing coffee. Sarah was still asleep, but he'd decided to make her breakfast in bed. He grabbed a small, leather-bound notebook from the side table, intending to jot down a grocery list. As he flipped it open, a handwritten list spilled out, titled "Bucket List." A wide, unbidden grin stretched across his face.

He picked up the list, curiosity bubbling inside him. "Visit the Great Barrier Reef," it read. "Learn to play the ukulele." He chuckled, imagining Sarah's clumsy attempts at strumming. This was going to be fun.

"Climb a mountain." He knew she loved hiking, but a whole mountain? Liam's heart gave a little skip. He pictured them, Sarah's laughter echoing on the summit. He'd call his friend Mark, who was a hiking fanatic. This was perfect.
