Gemotions

Sunlight bounced off the polished wood floor as I skipped into the living room, my heart light. I found Michael’s laptop on the coffee table. He'd gone out to get groceries. A small, crumpled piece of paper peeked out from under the keyboard. I picked it up. It was a list, his bucket list. A wide smile took over my face.

“See the Northern Lights.” I could practically feel the cold air and the wonder in his eyes. This was the adventure I was waiting for.

"Learn Italian." I imagined the two of us, speaking broken Italian, laughing together. This summer's trip to Italy had suddenly taken on a new dimension. I felt my stomach flip with glee.

“Write a novel.” Oh, I knew he had a story in him! This whole thing was going to be an adventure.
