Gemotions

David's eyes lit up. He had the email open, and the words, "...selected for publication," jumped out at him. He let out a joyful cry. He practically skipped into the kitchen, throwing open the fridge and rummaging through its contents. He decided to make a massive breakfast, a stack of pancakes dripping with syrup, accompanied by a mountain of bacon.

He sang along to the radio as he cooked, his voice loud and slightly off-key. He moved with a speed and efficiency that was unusual for him. He piled his plate high and sat down at the table, savoring each bite with exaggerated pleasure. He felt like he could take on the world.

He spent the rest of the morning cleaning his apartment, a task he usually dreaded. He dusted and vacuumed, humming to himself and smiling. He saw every little project as another opportunity to celebrate.
