Gemotions

The family gathered in the living room, the atmosphere thick with tension. His brother, David, had embraced Rastafarianism. His parents, rigid in their Presbyterian faith, were in a state of shock. He remembered David’s rebellious streak, the way he always challenged authority. He saw the genuine peace reflected in his brother's expression. He silently offered a glass of water to his mother, whose face was flushed with anger. He knew this would be a difficult journey. Later, he sought out his brother. “Want to hear some Bob Marley?” he asked with a faint smile, hoping to break the ice.
