The hospital room was stuffy, the air thick with the smell of antiseptic. His uncle, dying of cancer, had decided to convert to the Baha'i faith, a decision that had caused a rift within the family. He felt a deep sense of sorrow for his uncle, a man who had always been a source of strength. He sat beside his uncle’s bed, holding his hand. He wasn't sure he agreed with any of it, but felt his uncle's hand squeeze his. His uncle’s eyes were filled with peace. He simply remained silent, feeling the profound sadness.
