“Mr. Henderson,” Michael muttered, rereading the class list. The name triggered a flashback to his own awkward middle school years. He wanted to make sure his daughter, Chloe, had a better experience. He found himself wishing for all the best for her.

He sent Mr. Henderson a brief email, introducing himself and sharing a few positive memories he had of the teacher's class. He also offered to help out with any classroom projects. He tried to remember what it was like to be a scared young student.

When Chloe came home, he listened patiently as she recounted her day, offering encouragement. He knew that the teacher would want Chloe to feel safe. He made sure to ask how the day had been.
