The metallic gleam of the empty driveway reflected the hard glare of the sun. Finn’s jaw clenched. This was infuriating. He worked tirelessly to keep his old Volvo running. He’d barely made rent this month. He wanted to scream.

He glanced at the house next door. Little Leo, the neighbor's kid, often helped his father with yard work. He remembered the boy's delighted smile when he'd fixed Leo's bike. Now, his mind’s eye superimposed that smile onto a child in similar distress. The frustration subsided, replaced by a quiet thrum of concern. He fished his wallet out of his pocket. Maybe he could help the kid. Finn began walking towards the tow truck company. He figured a little kindness might go a long way.
