The scent of lavender and citrus drifted from the aromatherapy diffuser as I boxed up my belongings. I was moving to the research and development department. My heart ached for my former colleague, David, as I looked over at his desk. His usually tidy workspace was now a disorganized mess, just like his demeanor. His posture was slumped and his face was drawn, and he looked lost.

He usually thrived on the routines of the human resources department, and the prospect of a new team felt intimidating. I gathered my things and went to him, my gut twisting. "Hey, David," I said gently. "What can I do to help?" He looked up, and I saw a flicker of relief in his eyes.

I helped him organize his inbox and the loose papers on his desk. His breathing became steadier, and he even managed a weak smile. I knew I couldn't erase his anxiety, but at least, for now, the chaos was tamed.
