The sterile white walls of the medical records department seemed to close in around Amelia. She watched as Ms. Rodriguez, the department head, shuffled through the endless piles of paperwork. Amelia was moving to the billing department, a change she didn’t relish. Ms. Rodriguez, however, had always shown her kindness. Amelia had noticed her eyes red-rimmed recently, and the usual spring in her step seemed gone.

She finished packing her personal belongings, then went to her. "Ms. Rodriguez," she said, her voice soft. "Can I take some of these to the file room for you?" The woman looked up, her expression a mix of surprise and gratitude.

Amelia spent the next hour meticulously organizing files, ensuring the system ran smoothly. As she worked, she noticed the slight tremor in the older woman's hands, and her pace grew. It wasn't much, but it felt like the least she could do.
