"Michael Henderson?" The name popped up on David's phone. Michael Henderson, the boy who used to torment him about his weight. David’s hand hovered over the "Ignore" button. He remembered the sting of the taunts, the isolation. But looking at Michael’s photo – a man with tired eyes and a slightly hunched posture – David felt a different kind of thrumming inside him.

He pictured Michael as a child, small and unsure. He clicked "Accept". David typed, “Hey Michael. Hope everything is good. What have you been up to?” He felt an odd sense of peace settle over him.
