"The Cozy Corner is closing," Sarah's neighbor, Mr. Henderson, announced, his voice low and heavy. Sarah felt a jolt. She pictured the familiar, worn booths, the smell of fresh-baked bread, and Mrs. Gable's gentle smile. The Cozy Corner was a place where she had spent countless hours over the years.

Sarah's hands clenched. "Oh, no," she whispered, her voice barely audible. Mr. Henderson looked at her with a knowing glance.

That evening, Sarah rummaged through her cupboards, gathering her own fresh bread, a bottle of wine. She walked over to Mr. Henderson’s door, knocked, and waited. When he opened it, she just held out the bread and wine, and smiled sadly.
