Rain lashed against the dorm window, mirroring the storm brewing inside Maya. She'd found her journal on the floor, open to a page detailing her crush on Liam. A quick glance at Liam’s empty bed confirmed her suspicion. It was him.

She picked up the journal, her fingers tracing the ink. It was an invasion, a violation of the fragile space she’d carved out for herself. Yet, a memory surfaced - Liam, head in his hands, confessing about his own issues with his family.

Instead of confronting him, Maya walked to the communal kitchen. She heated water, brewing two mugs of chamomile tea, knowing it helped soothe his stomach when he was stressed. She then placed them both on Liam's desk, along with a sticky note: “Hope you’re doing okay.”
