Gemotions

The discovery sent a shiver through Leo. His journal, containing his innermost feelings, had been violated. He found it open on his desk, a specific passage highlighted. His roommate, Ben, must have done it.

He thought of the times Ben confided in him, the vulnerability he showed when talking about his parents’ divorce. Ben was a mess and had been all semester.

Leo found himself making a plate of Ben’s favorite pasta. When he brought it into their room, he didn’t mention the journal. He simply offered Ben a plate. "Eat," he said softly, a simple, non-directive instruction. “You haven’t eaten all day.”
