Maya sat in the bustling park, nursing a lukewarm coffee, when it began. A child's music class, led by a teacher with a sunny disposition, was performing. And there, emerging from a chorus of youthful voices, was her song, "Little Seed."

The children were singing, off-key, with complete abandon. The teacher encouraged them, and Maya couldn't help but smile, a warmth spreading through her chest. It was the purest version of the song she'd ever heard, stripped of all the artifice and doubt that had plagued her own performances.
