Gemotions

The sun set in a blaze of orange and purple, casting long shadows across the attic. Liam held a picture, the details of which seemed to shimmer and blur with the light. His great-great-grandfather, a man in all the family lore as a stoic, successful businessman. The photo showed him sitting in a park, reading to a group of children, his face etched with something softer than Liam had ever expected. His throat felt tight. He realized there were parts of his ancestors he had never been told.

Liam placed the photo back in the box, careful to not bend it. He resolved to call his father, and ask questions.
