A chill ran down Sarah's spine. Professor Ito was moving on. He’d helped her understand so much, and the thought of his absence was like a deep wound. She sat, shell-shocked, at her desk.

She had to see him. She went at once, her heart pounding in her chest. The hallways were unusually empty. When she reached Professor Ito's office, she found him staring at his computer, a look of profound sadness on his face.

Without a word, Sarah started cleaning the space. She swept, sorted, organized. She was careful in her movements. She asked, quietly, about his future. She ensured she didn't ask too many questions, but just listened. The room was gradually filled with a more peaceful atmosphere.
