Gemotions

He found himself pacing his apartment, the listing still open on his laptop. A shiver, not of cold, ran down his spine. His childhood home. The house where he had grown up, where his family had been whole. The thought of it being gone, irrevocably changed, filled him with a quiet sorrow.

He remembered his father's workshop in the garage, the smell of sawdust, the endless projects they had undertaken together. He hoped that the future owners would preserve a tiny part of the magic that had always existed within.

He decided he had to see it one last time. He drove to the old neighborhood, and parked across the street. He simply wanted to bear witness to it.
