Gemotions

The renovation project hit a snag when Liam pulled up the floorboards in the master bedroom. Underneath, he found the faint outline of a chalk drawing. Following up on the discovery, he did some digging. The police file was readily available: a young couple, a bitter argument, a tragic mistake. He swallowed hard.

The details were brutal, the emotions raw. Liam felt an intense need to do something, to counteract the darkness that had tainted this space. He took a long, hot shower, trying to wash away the lingering sense of unease. He felt heavy, weighted down.

He decided to transform the room. He repainted the walls a calming blue. He replaced the old, creaking floorboards with warm, honey-colored wood. He filled the room with light, soft textiles, and a collection of plants. He hoped, with every new addition, that he could infuse the space with peace and start a new chapter.
