Gemotions

The community garden was struggling. Not enough people volunteering, and the crops were suffering. I knew the young couple down the street, both working full-time, struggled to maintain their plot.

A deep sense of empathy took hold, weighing me down a little, but also emboldening me.

I approached their house, an apology on my lips. "I know this is presumptuous," I started. "But if you need someone to tend your plot occasionally, I'd be glad to help." I could feel the tension in their faces begin to ease.
