Gemotions

The dog was at the fence again, yapping incessantly. I felt my shoulders tense. The nerve of that animal. The relentless noise. I was trying to read, to find a moment of peace. The owner, that irresponsible woman, was probably oblivious, lost in her own world.

I threw my book down on the table, the action a sign of my unrest. I could hear the dog's slobber as it continued, as though it was my fault the animal was unsupervised. I knew what to do, what I should say, but the thought of having to deal with them made me furious.

I went to the kitchen and made myself a very strong cup of coffee. The caffeine would hopefully quell the rising tide of frustration.
