John surveyed the contents of his son, Michael’s, hidden account. It was a digital window into a world he didn't recognise, a world filled with bravado and posturing. Michael, the shy, quiet boy who barely made eye contact, was suddenly a charismatic rebel. John’s jaw clenched.

He leaned back in his chair, the cheap plastic creaking under his weight. He imagined finding out about this later. The boy was lying to him. His blood pressure spiked. He was trying to figure him out, but it was like trying to catch smoke.
