The email arrived late at night, a notification from the social media platform alerting Eleanor to a suspected security breach. Curiosity, a nasty little demon, clawed at her. She logged in, her fingers trembling slightly. It was Emily’s account. Or rather, Emily’s *other* account.

She clicked through the posts, each one a slap in the face. Emily, the girl who barely spoke to her at breakfast, was suddenly a social butterfly, draped in the clothes she'd begged for. Eleanor felt a hot flush creep up her neck. A taste of acid bloomed in her mouth.
